Interest Intensifies Over the Weekend

Over 50 Parallel Events During the Exhibition

B2B Meetings Continue Today

The FOOD & DRINKS by Detrop international exhibition started with very positive feedback from both buyers and exhibitors, and initial meetings have already yielded fruitful results. Hosted Buyers were impressed with the quality and meticulous presentation of the products by producers, describing the exhibition as high-quality and targeted, providing a more constructive engagement with exhibitors. They highlighted the immediacy of the meetings, noting how they could form a clear picture of the exhibitors and see new products and fresh ideas. The B2B meetings continue today.

Beyond the core exhibition, more than 50 parallel events are set to take place over the three days, drawing the interest of visitors. Yesterday, an event organized by the “New Agriculture-New Generation” organization focused on innovation, sustainability, and extroversion in the food sector. The Olive Oil and Olive Friends Club, FILAIOS, presented the awards for the 2nd EVOO IN GASTRONOMY, while The Pairing Bar hosted tastings of Greek food and beverages.

The chefs of the Greek Culinary Professionals Union wowed the audience with dishes inspired by “Macedonian Cuisine,” while All About Café welcomed café industry professionals and updated them on the latest trends in coffee. At the end of the first day, a networking event was held at the Central Macedonia Region stand, featuring local delicacies prepared by young and talented chefs.

Today, until 7:00 p.m., olive oil tastings are underway at the Golden Olive Bar at Pavilion 13, hosted by the Olive Oil and Olive Friends Club, FILAIOS. From 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the open stage in the same pavilion, the award ceremonies for the international olive oil competitions “OMFAKIO EVOO TROPHY” and “TABLE OLIVES TROPHY” will take place. From 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., the Food Experts Awards (FEA 2024) by Cibum will be awarded on the Open Stage at Pavilion 13. Additionally, the 2024 Greek Latte Art Throwdown competition will be held in the All About Café section at Pavilion 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and The Pairing Bar will offer tasting suggestions from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Pavilion 13.

The Gastronomy EXPerience-Taste the Stories initiative is also ongoing, where chefs from six local restaurants are using select ingredients from this year’s exhibitors to create original recipes and unique dishes offered in special menus. Additionally, Thessaloniki bars have been inspired by the exhibition to create signature cocktails.

The FOOD & DRINKS by Detrop international exhibition hosts 250 exhibitors (direct and indirect) from 19 countries, with participants from the Regions of Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Northern Aegean, Western Macedonia, and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The event has welcomed 90 foreign hosted buyers from 18 countries and 30 buyers from major supermarket chains.
